On July 25, 2015, The Mayor’s Commission on Persons with Disabilities, The Office of Councilman-At Large Dennis M. O’Brien, Liberty Resources and the National Constitution Center, will host the Philadelphia celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The event will take place in Philadelphia’s City Hall and at the National Constitution Center. Numerous other local businesses and non-profits will join us to commemorate this historic achievement.
The event will begin at 10:30 am with an information and resource fair, speeches, and performances by local, national and international artists with disabilities at City Hall and Dilworth Park in Philadelphia. A Disability Pride Parade will then leave City Hall at 1:00 pm and will proceed down Market Street to the National Constitution Center, where there will be a display of Justin Dart’s wheelchair, in which he sat while signing the Act, more speeches and performances, concluding at 3:30.
